Scallops

Storage: Fresh & Frozen Scallops will arrive packed on frozen gel packs. Fresh Scallops should be immediately placed in the coldest part of your refrigerator. Frozen Scallops should be placed in the freezer; unless you plan to consume them within 24 hours; you can begin thawing them in the refrigerator.

Inspection: Fresh Scallops are shipped in plastic containers. Fresh Scallops can have a bit of Sea odor upon opening. Open and remove from container to let the scallops breathe and this will dissipate. Rinse container and return scallops if desired. A freezer quality (heavier mil) seal tight bag is a great alternative storage package.

Expiration: Fresh Scallops have a 5 day refrigerated shelf life upon receipt. Fresh Frozen Scallops do not have an expiration date, but should be consumed within 180 days of purchase

Preparation & Consumption: It is recommended that scallops be rinsed in ICE cold water and drained before cooking.
